Short story to represent South Africa

We have received an invitation from IBBY to submit a short story for children to represent South Africa.

This will appear in an anthology which will be published in connection with the IBBY Congress next year (Basel, Switzerland - September 2002).

The South African Childrens Book Forum invites all authors to submit a story of between 1500 and 2000 words. The theme of the story is up to you but it should present a picture of the life and culture of our country. There is no remuneration offered whatsoever! However, as well as the glory of appearing in an international
publication you will of course retain copyright for any future use.

The story must be in English and it must be sent to the SACBF, (PO Box 847, Howard Place 7450) by the end of December in order that we meet the
IBBY deadline of 31 January 2002. If you require more details, please send us your fax number and we can fax you the IBBY information sheet. Happy writing!
